Facelift and necklift with suspension threads
Suspension threads have revolutionized cosmetic medicine since they can achieve the effect of a FACELIFT and NECKLIFT in a few minutes.
Indications for this technique are patients with blurring of the contour of the lower jaw, with intense nasolabial wrinkles and relaxation in the mid-face and drooping eyebrows.
The application of the suspension threads is done with
local anesthesia in the office. It takes about 1 hour and can be combined with
other treatments. The results are immediately visible. In particular, the
contour of the face is lifted, the excess in the neck disappears, the
cheekbones are emphasized and the eyebrows can be straightened!
However, you should know that the duration of the results
is 12-18 months, that 4-12 threads are required, depending on the needs of the
person per session, that there may be swelling, ecchymosis and temporary
asymmetry. Finally, because excess skin is not removed, as is the case during a
facelift, small folds are created near the thread entry points which take about
a week to normalize.
These treatments combined with the use of BOTOX,
injectable hyaluronic acid implants and fractional lasers create the facelift
effect and should be repeated approximately every two years.
Simple PDO threads are made from polydioxanone, a strong,
single-stranded thread that hydrolyzes within the skin after 4-6 months.
They enter the skin with thin, hollow and flexible needles
that do not break and are covered with a silicone coating. They are combined
with suspension threads improving their effect but can also be applied alone
on: face, neck, arms, knees, inner surface of thighs and generally where there
is relaxation and we want to cause tightening.
All threads initially cause mechanical injury and
stimulate neo-collagenogenesis through the mechanisms of healing. In the
following weeks and months, the skin produces foundation substance and rebuilds
itself resulting in a firmer appearance with less wrinkling.
However, you should be aware that a large number of
threads (>20) are needed per area, that ecchymosis may occur during their
application and that the results of their action become apparent after 10 days.
